Veterans Day & Remembrance Day Vocabulary Lessons

On November 11, many countries will pause to remember the bravery and sacrifice of their servicemen and women. To help your young learners understand the importance of this day (also known as Armistice Day or Poppy Day), try our Veterans Day or Remembrance Day vocabulary lessons.

These eight-page Word Bank lessons each include a colorful picture dictionary with images including a poppy, ceremony, wreath, soldier, war, peace, etc. Activities such as a matchup, word choice, word search, word scramble, and spelling bee help students learn the new vocabulary easily. Finish up with discussion questions so that your students can try using the new vocabulary in context.
