Independence Day Vocabulary Lesson

Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July or July Fourth, is a federal holiday that commemorates the July 4, 1776, adoption of the Declaration of Independence. We’ve got a fun and festive Independence Day vocabulary lesson that your kids will love!

This Word Bank lesson includes a colourful picture dictionary, matchup, word choice, word search, word scramble, and spelling bee. Discussion questions at the end allow your students to use the new vocabulary in context!

This lesson also includes a set of printable flashcards at the end. Hang them around your classroom as ready-made decorations, or use them to quiz your students after they’ve tried this lesson.
