Even though Tara Benwell and I work far across the country from each other (she’s in Ontario and I’m in BC), we got to meet up recently when she came out to visit family and friends. We decided to make a video introducing Sprout English, a site full of resources for teaching English to young learners.
Tara and I met back in 2000 when we worked for a language school in Vancouver, Canada, and we’ve been friends ever since! Tara joined Red River Press back in 2006 as a materials writer and social media director, and I joined the company in 2011 as an editor. Tara manages ESL-Library, our resource site for teaching English to teenagers and adults, and I manage Sprout English. Working together again has been the best experience!
Check out our first attempt at making a video together. We felt sorry for our coworkers, who had a difficult time editing out all our laughter! The plan is to make many more monthly videos on teaching tips, grammar pointers, and activities to do with your students.
