Are you a chocoloholic? Chocolate is now for sale in many stores in countries that celebrate Valentine’s Day. Your young learners will enjoy learning about where chocolate comes from and how hot chocolate became a popular drink!

Our Chocolate lesson in the Discovery Center includes discussion questions, pre-reading vocabulary, a short reading full of interesting facts, and comprehension questions. There are also engaging vocabulary review tasks in the form of a crossword puzzle, a word search, and a word maze!

Our Discovery Center has other fun food lessons too. We have lessons on cheese, ice cream, pizza, popcorn, and food allergies.

Injuries: Vocabulary Lesson

With all the snow and ice at this time of year in many countries around the world, it’s a good time to discuss accidents and injuries! Our new Word Bank lesson has enough variety and repetition to ensure your young learners master this set of terms for common injuries.

Our Injuries vocabulary lesson includes a colorful picture dictionary, matchup, word choice, word search, word scramble, and spelling bee. This lesson will also teach students when an injury needs a reflexive pronoun (e.g., He cut himself). Discussion questions at the end allow your learners to practice the new vocabulary in context. Superlative Adjectives

Which animal is the furriest? Our brand-new Superlative Adjectives lesson gives young learners a lot of practice comparing groups of people, places, and things.

This colorful, eight-page lesson starts off with a simple explanation that reviews the form and function of the grammar target. It is followed by a variety of activities such as a fill-in-the-blanks exercise, a spot-the-errors exercise, and a group work exercise that are sure to engage your students. Pako – Simple Present / Present Progressive Reading

The present tenses are fairly simple to master on their own, but students can get confused when they’re paired in the same context. Seeing the simple present and present progressive together in the same text really helps students figure out when to use each one.
