My House

Students of all levels and ages need some basic vocabulary to describe where they live. Our new Word Bank lesson, My House, is the perfect place to start!

The My House lesson includes a colorful picture dictionary, matchup, word choice, word search, word scramble, and spelling bee. Your learners will learn if swing set, flower box, front yard, and backyard are one or two words.

Students can also practice the new vocabulary in context when they are asked to describe their dream house (in Exercise 7). Turn it into a writing assignment in class or for homework by having them write a paragraph on their dream house. They can also draw a picture of it that you can use to decorate your classroom!

Find this lesson in the Word Bank – Transportation & Housing. Stay tuned for more lessons on house-related vocabulary. A new lesson called “The Kitchen” is coming soon!
